소장인사말 / Director Greetings
안녕하십니까, 영남대학교 부설 세포배양연구소(YU-RICC; YeungNam University Research Institute of Cell Culture)의 제2대 소장을 맡게 된 최인호입니다.
최근 바이오산업은 눈부신 발전을 이루며, 세계 여러 선진국들이 이 분야에 집중 투자하고 있습니다. 이와 동시에 세포배양기술은 바이오의약품과 배양육 생산은 물론 기초연구에 필요한 핵심기술로 자리 잡았습니다. 그러나 아쉽게도 우리나라는 세포배양에 필요한 핵심 원자재를 전적으로 수입에 의존하고 있는 상황입니다.
이러한 현실을 개선하고자 2017년에 설립된 우리 연구소는 국내 바이오산업의 발전에 기여하고자 합니다. 또한, 우리 지역사회의 발전에도 이바지함으로써 지역 산업의 쇠퇴를 막고 활성화하는 데 목표를 두고 있습니다.
앞으로 영남대학교 부설 세포배양연구소는 모든 소속 교수님과 연구원이 협력하여 세포배양기술을 더욱 발전시키고, 지역사회 발전에 중요한 역할을 하게 될 것임을 확신합니다.
우리 연구소가 지속적으로 성장하고 발전할 수 있도록 여러분의 많은 관심과 격려를 부탁드립니다. 함께 성장하고 발전해 나가는 영남대학교 부설 세포배양연구소에 많은 기대와 응원을 보내주시길 바랍니다.

Hello,
I am Inho Choi, the proud second director of the YeungNam University Research Institute of Cell Culture (YU-RICC).
The biotech industry has made great progress globally, fueled by large investments. Cell culture technology is crucial for biopharmaceuticals, cultured meat, and research. Despite this, South Korea's heavy reliance on imported raw materials for cell culture remains a significant concern.
Established in 2017, our institute is committed to enhancing the biotech sector locally and revitalizing regional industries to prevent decline.
Looking ahead, YU-RICC will intensify efforts in cell culture technology through collaboration among all our faculty and researchers, confident in making a significant impact on community development. Your enthusiasm and expertise are instrumental in our collective success.
We earnestly request your continued interest and support to foster the growth and success of our institute. We look forward to advancing together and greatly appreciate your encouragement and expectations. I look forward to our continued collaboration and wish you every success in your endeavors.
